Amalphia Sylva is an award-winning raqs sharqi and fusion belly dance artist. Recognized for her fluid and elegant technique as well as her musicality, she strives to make every performance a memorable occasion. Her work ranges from the traditional to the experimental and includes both improvisation and dynamic choreography.
As an instructor, she offers learners a space to develop fundamental belly dance technique and explore their creativity in a welcoming environment.
Covers the fundamental movements and basic techniques of belly dance: isolations, undulations, hip and chest circles, figure 8s and shimmies. We also address good dance posture, explore musicality, and build improvisation and choreography skills.
Fusion belly dance is rooted in traditional raqs sharqi technique, so you will learn the same fundamental movements. We will address good dance posture, explore musicality, and build improvisation and choreography skills. This course also brings in elements of other styles of dance.
